This post honestly is just for me so I never forget.
Today I did my work-outs and went to pick Elsa up from school. Anna stayed home cause yesterday she was sick with a temp of 105.5. After I got Elsa from school I headed to Subway to grab a sandwich. They were a little busy. There was a older guy in front of me. I saw he had a couple of dollars and some change in his hands. When it was his turn, he asked the worker what he could get for $3. The worker looked at the menu and said he could get some soup. The guy asked if there was anyway he could get a sandwich. He would pay the rest when he got his veteran check. The worker thought for a few seconds and gave him a couple of options of sandwiches. He picked a meatball. He got it on wheat with provolone and toasted. He thanked the worker so much. He turned to me and just smiled. I smiled back. As his sandwich was toasting, he went and sat down and I gave my order. He got a little of all the veggies and salt, pepper and lots of Parmesan. He teasingly said they could put a bag of chips on his sandwich also. I couldn't not do anything. I went over to him, put my arm around him and told him to pick out some chips. I would buy him lunch. It floored him. He started crying. He was so happy. He was simply beaming. I handed him a cup to get a drink while they packed up his sandwich. When he came back over I handed him his sandwich and told him to have an amazing day. He simply said God bless you. Tears were still rolling down his cheeks. Never forget how his smile lit up your day. Never forget how grateful he was for something so small.
